All golf players that that do this for a living, still look for ways to improve their golf. And they do this every day. As long as you remember that it is your golf swing the one driving the score, you have every chance of becoming invincible. Still, you also need a perfect hand-eye coordination, creativity, vision, balance and athletic ability to play golf.
One of the most challenging games one can learn during a lifetime is golf and how to play it well. You can go after many golf tips, but it is always wiser to follow simple approaches that can be applied and that can help you be a better player and improve your swing.
The easiest golf swing is many times the most effective when trying to hit the ball further and straighter. So here are a few simple but effective tips:
• The Grip
The foundation of your swing stands in the grip. Developing the right grip is essential to getting the perfect swing.
Here are a few different grips: the interlocking grip (with the left index finger and the right little finger combine and interlock, especially if you have thick hands, or even shorter hands); the overlapping grip (having the right little finger sit on top of the index finger of your left hand, used by most male golfer); or the baseball grip (without overlapping the index finger of the left hand and the little finger of the right hand, but make contact with each other. It is used by the majority of beginners)
• The Stance
The stance that you want is having your weight equally balanced. For this, standing relaxed over the ball is of great importance, since any tension can affect the quality of the swing. So, you have to make sure you follow this one. It’s best to bend at the hips also with a slight flex in your knees. Remember to keep your spine erect and not rounded.
• The Backswing
As long as you are slow and deliberate, you can get the perfect backswing. Do not be quick about it, as the power is actually generated more on your downswing. Also keep your left arm as straight as you can while going as far back as possible.
• The Downswing
Try to keep your head in the same position – it’s the key to the downswing. Begin it downswing from your hips, while keeping your head behind the ball. It is not advised to use your right hand so as to generate more power, as it will be generated by the angle formed between the clubs and the wrists. Again, do not be quick about your downswing; it is better to have a gradually increasing speed on the downswing along with good balance.
• The Follow Through
It is important for your head to come up with your right shoulder, with your chin over your right shoulder while your head is facing the target. This will complete the follow through. Being patient while learning all this tips is essential. You can also practice your swings without actually hitting the ball, to start with. You will become more and more comfortable doing it like this.
Remember: relax and focus on your targets when you are on the course! And practice, practice, practice!

Cheers
Jedd.

In golf the mind is the one that takes control over all your movements. To be an exquisite player, you have to get control of your mind, before controlling the game. In the end, it is all about the second you make the shot. The golf shot is made of two parts. The first one is planning.

To effectively send the ball towards its target, you must consider all the variables that nature has in store for and make the most of them. This is where the uniqueness of the first golf shot stands. You need to ponder the wind speed and direction, lie, obstacles, temperature, hazards, even your own personality and skills before you make the hit. Still, not all is as simple as it may sound.

All things considered, it is very important for this first phase where you plan the shot, to be complete, and your decision to hit should be taken without trace of doubt. Then, you can move on. If you’re having any doubt about the shot you have planned, while standing there, your mind gets distracted and try to re-calculate another shot, meaning you now stand few chances of getting this shot right. So, as soon as you have clearly decided upon the shot and target, you should wait no more. Be precise and do not hesitate.

One swing is made up of two phases; the pre-shot and the swing. In the pre-shot you can still think of any small changes that must be made to the basic swing you have in your mind to make the best shot based on the conditions.

However, all these changes must be made without hesitation. Once you have done this, nothing stops you from making a couple of swings, just for practice and see for the swing feels like in your mind. This can also prove quite helpful in eliminating any doubt you may have about it.

Take this example: when you have to make shot, you may have a certain tendency to swing, so as not to finish your backswing. During these practice swings you can get, you can first program your swing picture, and then in the second practice swing, you can add the full turn of you lower back. You can even have your third practice swing so as to reinforce the previous swings.

You are now ready to swing, without any more doubts and incertitude. So, step right up and swing the same way as you have pictured it. The only problem at this point is that the human brain cannot be just shut down, whenever you don’t want it to function, and it is always looking for possible stimulus. So, the solution is to keep it busy. At this point, mental games can come to the rescue. The trick is to keep the mind occupied during the swing so that it doesn’t bring new pictures and distract your attention from the shot.

For everything we do, our mind can make pictures that we follow. So, all you have to do is picture yourself making the perfect swing, feel the right tempo for it, hold images of the impact and imagine the ball take the intended path. Now all you have to do is step up to the ball and re-wind this tape in your mind.

Cheers
Jedd.

I just finished up a golf class last week put on by ESPN in which they gave you a set of Nike Ignite clubs to get started, namely; 4-9 irons, pw, 3-hybrid and a putter. I added a cheap driver (which I'm planning on upgrading to a Nike Summo) and a Wilson 58 deg sand wedge as well. I have played the past two months with this set and feel that I may need more fairway clubs especially for the 5 pars. I'm getting mixed up between some saying I need a 3 and a 5 wood while others say I need 5, 7 and 9 wood. As well, I'm mixed up whether I should get hybrids (like the #3 that I have) to take the place of the woods. Does anyone have suggestions on what I should get to complete my set? BTW, I do like wedges and would like to add either a LW or a GW to my set. Thanks!

The ideal set for the intermediate golfer would start with Game Improvement irons. You still need forgiveness but you'd also like a little more feel and control. If you tend to hit your irons well you might be ready to consider a regular 4 iron, otherwise stay with your hybrid 4.

For your distance clubs add a little less loft on those fairway woods and hybrids to maximize distance. You might be ready to drop your 5 hybrid and replace it with a 3 hybrid.

Your driver is still oversized with about 10-12 degrees of loft to maximize distance and accuracy. Shaft selections may be the most important component. You want a shaft that matches your swing speed and ball flight requirements. Perhaps a draw bias to help get the drive moving a little more right to left.

Your wedges can be reconfigured. A gap wedge or a lob wedge are possibly good additions. If three wedges are your choice you may want to distribute the lofts from your PW to your LW (46, 52, 58 degrees). You may want wedges with less bounce so you can hit them off of tighter lies.

For a putter an intermediate you may have already settled on what works for you, but if you are ready to try something new, one of the new MOI maxed mallets would be a good choice.

Set configuration should be: Woods (1, 3, 5) Hybrids (3, 4) Irons (Game Improvement) (5-PW, SW, LW), Putter

My handicap is 12 and I feel more comfortable of hitting blade irons, should I continue to use cavity irons or change them to blade irons?

I've used blades for about 15 years. People always say blades are harder to hit, and if you miss the sweet spot you'll go astray. It's not exactly true. Blades these days are more forgiving than the Wilson blade 20-30 years ago. I used Mizuno MS 203 for sometimes, and those were the full blown blades that are not forgive. Try Tittleist 690 MB, Mizuno MP 33 or even the newest Titleist I 695 MB. These are forged blades. Go the site below and view the spec, they have little tubes at the neck that can absorb vibrations on the mishit as well.

I used to carry Titleist 981, which are not blades just in case my swing gone bad, but later I found that fixing a swing is the better way that compensatng with equipments. I've people using high-tech very expensive equipments with swing that is tormenting to look at just to prouduce a so so result. Fixing your swing to hit a good blade is much better way to hit a golf ball.

Besides, once you're comfortable with them, you'll enjoy an approach that once in a while a birdie tap in is possible. Once you can move the ball from left to right or right to left, and see them bounce a bit and check to a full stop, it's really good feeling. Play blades if you can, besides they look really good, too.

The only putters that are for sale are 33' putters. Would it change the putter(besides the length) if I got it cut down to 31'?

Would it change:
Feel
Stroke

Would it change the weight so much that it would seem like a whole new putter?

YES, it will change the feel, which may impact your stroke.

Shortening a putter (ESPECIALLY by 2 inches) would decrease the swing-weight of the putter, therefore making it feel lighter.

You would be taking approximately 20 grams off of the putter, so compensate you would either need to put 20 grams of lead tape on the putter, or put 20 grams worth of tungsten powder down the shaft.

I would recommend cutting off .5/1 inch at a time to see what you like best, and see how the weight works for you. But some people do like the lighter weight head and some like a heavier head.

When you cut it down, at first it will seem like you are missing everything, so give it a little time, don't jump to conclusions without a little time with it.

Good luck.

I know its sounds silly but iam planning on putting a small T2 turbo on my 2002 1.5L toyota ECHO. Ive seen some echos that are turbocharged and they are sick, they keep up with anything even my brothers BMW 740IL. I already have my eye on a turbo that costs $400 so its a preatty good price. The only thing the dude at the shop have said is that i dont really need all that intercooler stuff. He said that the turbo is small so i dont really need to get too fancy, just place it on reprogram the ECU at dyno and iam good to go. Iam not planning to make this echo into a 9sec car but iam planning to invest about $1000 bucks and make it fast enogh. Does anyone know what i should keep in mind, like what i need to place and replace before i put on the turbo?

okk if you plan on running under 8 pds then heres a list anymore and it gets more complicated
-turbo
-manifold
-wastgate
-boost controller
-downpipe
-intercooler
-intercooler piping
-safc
-boost gauge,a/f ratio gauge,pyrometer
-fuel pressure regultaer
-higer cc injectors
-vacuum manifold for all extra gauges

not sure if im missing anything

Personally I think new clubs can help you play better. It may just be psychosomatic… but hay whatever works.
Peace!

Ok well depends on how much u have played in the past and if u really enjoy it or not ? I would recomended a cheaper set from walmart or a pawn shop if u are not sure u are going to be playing alot but i u think you are going to play every weekend go to a pro shop and pay what u want because they range to whatever u want to pay !!!

Pleas visit www.marketlaunchers.com/hambly.html for photo and brief description. It is the only golf training aid of it'd kind in the world. It is the only golf training aid that emits a laser-dot from the actual golf ball being putted. The device also includes colored targets at which to putt the golf ball (laser-dot). There is NO BALL CHASING- simply reset and putt. The colored targets enable the device to double as a great multi-player competitve golf game. Example: Try "OUT"/Around The World (adapted from basketball). The game applications have led to many fun arguments and "putter grabbing".

Very hard to say

A website or step by step procedure on how to build a backyard golf green. Thanks.

we just put one in our backyard at our house in Kansas City and we are gonna put one in the backyard at our house in Hilton Head. Anyway, we got everything from www.putting-greens.com because my uncle who is on the PGA Tour has 3 in his yard and he got everything from there.
you order everything you need… you can get the kit but, we ended up needing more than what was in the kit so, we aren't going to get the kit when we do it at our other house.
you need:
the manual
easy cup cutter
practice flag/cup
the bentgrass seed. depending on where you live… you might want to get one in the bucket… if its hot/humid where you live.

there is different kinds of everything… the cutter and the flags. it doesn't matter which one you get.. depends on how much you want to spend etc.

once you get everything.. i would suggest starting on early friday or saturday morning. once everything is done and in place, you will have a putting green!!! make sure you water it in hot weather and that simple stuff. they are easy to maintain and you can put rocks around them to look pretty.. its all about what you want.

e-mail me if you have any other questions about them

good luck!!!!
