Outside of videos and a actual coach, what is the best golf trainer you can buy for the novice golfer?

I would not use a training aid if your just getting started…that is just going to mechanize your swing..let it come natural….practice, practice, practice….learn the physics of the game so that you understand why the ball reacts the way it does, you will be able to work the ball and have more success.

Can you manufacture a low tech golf training device for profit?

I have an idea for a Golf training device that is low tech, but fun and sure to help many improve their ability to drive the ball with strength and accuracy. It can help improve technique faster because unlike compuiterized saimulators this lets the golfer be as natural as they would be on the tee. It can help dads and moms work with their kids in the privacy of their home without worrying about who is watching. Not costly to manufacture, but income potential can be great. With our way of life being bombarded with computers, I think stepping back and doing something a little more retro can strike a cord and get more people active. The thing is that can low tech trainers compete with computerized high tech trainers?

Patent it and market it do some research make sure there is nothing else like it. Then manufacture a few. See if they sell then dive in. Make sure that consumers like it if they don't do not waste your time

Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?

This is my first year playing golf and I don't want to develop bad habits. I am a 25 handicap and I just learned how to pitch a ball although I can't yet control it's distance. Anyways, I can drive the ball 275 yards 6 times out of 18, so the potential is there at times. However, almost everyone I play w/ tells me that I am bending my left hand too much. Does anyone know of an aid or trick that can help me w/ this? Will lessons be useful or is it all mental? Thanks for your time and assistance!

If I read your question correctly you want to keep your left hand, not arm straight. For that there are some trainers that can help you. I was recently at Golf Galaxy and saw a glove that does help keep your left hand straight. It will feel odd at first but will help your swing great amounts.
