What should ltr include when asking for donations from golf clubs/resorts as giveaways to our charity golf out
I'm with a national community service club who hosts a charity golf outing for our local club. All our fundraising returns to our community, generally to our children and handicap adults programs we sponsor. Golf attendance has been way down due to the competing golf outings for other really great causes. I'm requesting prizes from golf courses/resorts in Michigan for donations to entice golfers to join our great outing. The ltrs I've received state that "due to the great amount of requests", so some groups are getting these great giveaways. Is there a sure-fire method of fundraising success. This is my first year on the golf committe, so I'm trying to make a difference.
first know exactly what the funds go for and tell them when you call/contact them, also give them suggestions of what they may contribute, tell them how successiful it was in past years. Hope this helps
