from your own experience of course, the only way you can truly know what you like in equipment is for you to hit it on a course, go to your nearest golf repair/custom shop or golf course (if they have demo equipment, most will) and ask about demoing clubs youre interested in…they will probably have you leave a credit card imprint or your license…but nothing beats hitting it yourself right? good luck and putt well!

I like http://www.golf-gear-review.com because they are reviews from average, every-day golfers that have actually purchased the product and can give a totally unbiased review. It seems that the golf magazines only test the big-name clubs (Ping, Titleist, TaylorMade, Nike, Callaway) and I don't feel that they are always the most honest reviews.

golfreview.com and golfbluebook.com. Both are great and quite different, the blue book is good because you can order used clubs from them, read reviews and see what the trade in value is worth. I like this particularly because if you are going to get a set of new clubs, considering the preform the same, you can see how well they hold their value.

Both Golf Digest and Golf magazine have club reviews every Spring. The clubs are tested by golfers of different skill levels and it gives you a broad opinion of each brand and each club.
They should be coming out very soon.
