Golf Lessons

Golf instructions that make golf lessons easy. These golf videos will make all the difference

I play the Taylormade r7 cavity pack irons and want to become the best golfer that I can be. I am a 6 handicap and am looking to get better. I can hit draws and fades easilly. I was thinking about getting a second job so that I can get the Callaway X forged irons. Or forged irons in general.

You have to have premier ball striking ability to play forged irons. There are too many consequences for hitting a bad shot. Stick with you Taylormades and work on you short game. Anything from 100 yards and in. I thought just like you did. I was always one the range trying to hit golf balls and improve my swong to improve my scores and handicap. If you work on getting up and down and making the putts you should make (ie 5 footers) strokes will jump off of your scores.

  1. David L Said,

It's not the clubs that make the player. Pros get paid to use certain clubs so they do. Most of them could be scratch golfers with 20 year old Wilsons. It seems like everyone is trying to show up on the course with the newest or biggest fad club. Just play your best and you won't need anything else to show off with.

If you have the skill you purport to have why do you want to change to forged irons at this stage of the game? If you can manipulate your swing to draw or fade the ball at will, work on your game to become a more consistent scorer with the clubs you have presently. Perhaps you can improve them through regripping.. Get so you can hit all your shots consistently to the intended yardage and learn to vary each club's yardage from max to 20 yds shorter.

Forged irons demand hitting the golf ball more consistently on the sweet spot than the cavity back irons. If the pros use forged, don't think that you are ready for them.
